11sts, Gauze Over (go),* DO NOT REPEAT!*

Well, I've really done it this time. Last night I cut my thumb on broken glass whist washing dishes! Thirty minutes later, I found myself sitting in the ER (amazing and heroic fiancee by my side) getting eleven stitches in my hand! I have yet to see the damage... I can't even bear to think about what lies beneath the gauze! Have to do it eventually. suck it up, Kristin! The big bummer, I had the whole day off, and I can barely knit! I sat here all morning teaching myself continental knitting, which was going really well. Slow, but well. Then I realized I actually use less of my right hand when I knit English style. Either way, the cast on process was definitely causing my wound to feel funny. I should just succumb to my current state and allow myself to heal properly. ::sigh::I'm totally inspired, however, to knit myself a wristlet to cover up my ugly drab bandage. Might give it another go!

Yes! Yes! And YES!

I'm engaged!!! Dennis took me to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last Saturday, and down by the Japanese lake he got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and popped the question! Actually, it was more like, popped the question, pulled out the ring, and got down on one knee... but by then i was already crying tears of joy saying "yes! yes! yes!" over and over like a broken record. T'hehe

I was so surprised! I knew he was going to do it, but had no idea when. Honestly, I thought he was going to wait a few more years. I love him so much!!!! I couldn't even begin to imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else!

It's been a crazy week of telling everyone in our family, friends, work... it's crazy. Everyone's psyched for us! I'm psyched! AHHHH!!!

Cherry Pie Beta Revisited!

I love my job, but yesterday was a stressfully unstressful. By that I mean, no incredibly pressing work until the very end of the day, and didn't get home until 9pm. I was tired, hungy, and cranky. On top of it, it was raining out, so I treated myself to the yellow taxi cab that was conveniently driving by my office building. I can't remember the last time I took a cab, but the next time I drop $17 from NYC to Brooklyn, it better be an emergency.

Thankfully, I have to morning off for a bit of metnal recouperation. Just a chill morning of knitting, cleaning and hummus making. Also listening to Hype Machine for new music. My iPod seriously needs an update!

I decided to revisit my Cherry Pie Beta sweater, but this time in the form of a cardigan! I switched to US 7 needles and staying with the same Red Heart yarn. I'm not following any particular pattern, so I'm a little scared how it's going to turn out. But so far, so good!

Spicy Curry Hummus

Thanks to all this Tax Tea Party hullabaloo, my boss doesn't need me to come in until 3:00 pm today! (of course that means I won't be coming home until 12am!)... ah the life of a video editor in the news world. So, I've taken the morning to get some much needed cleaning done, knitting, and hummus making!

1 can chick peas (half drained)splash of vinegarsplash of lemon juice1 tbsp Tahini1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp curry powder1 tsp coriander1 tsp ground cumin2 cloves garlic (chopped)dash of cayenne pepper (to taste)salt & pepper ( to taste)Combine ingredients in food processor. Add a little water to dilute it to your liking. I prefer mine thick and chunky! Pour in bowl, sprinkle with Paprika and cilantro. Enjoy!

Bunny Jumper

Happy Easter! I woke up at 8am to finish knitting Summer's sweater! Just in time! I followed the original Boheme Pattern, up until the lace part. Below are a few pattern notes.

Knit one more row, decreasing 6 sts evenly across, until 90 sts remain.
Switch to larger needle and follow this lace pattern:

Row 1: K2, *K2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, K1, psso, K4* K2

Row 3: K1, *K2tog, yo, K3, yo, sl1, k1, psso, K2* K1

Row 5: K2, *K2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl1, K1, psso, K4* K2

Row 7: K1 *yo, s1, K1, psso, K3, K2tog, yo, K2* K1

Row 9: K2, *yo, sl1, K1, psso, K1, K2tog, yo, k4* K2

Row 11: K1 *yo, s1, K1, psso, K3, K2tog, yo, K2* K1

Knit 5 rows and BO.

Continuing from last night, I made a pitstop at Wal*Mart and picked up some more yarn! Nothing crazy, just two skeins of Vanna's Choice in Taupe. I just think it's hilarious that Vanna White has her own line of yarn. But it definitely feels better than Red Heart.

When we got back to Brooklyn, Dennis and I hit up Union Pool …

Hail from my iPhone!

I'm driving back from Philly right now... Went to vistit Dennis' family for a belated Passover dinner... Tomorrow we're having Easter dinner at my family's... So it's a double whammy of family festivites! WoohOo!

On our way to Philly, I had some time to work on Summer's sweater! I stopped by this bead/trimmings store on 6th avenue after work on Friday to pickup some buttons. They're really cute!

[ Wow... kinda hard to type On this thing in a moving vehicle.... But I'm doing my best. It's too dark out now to get any more knitting done but we have a whole other hour left of driving to do so I might as well do some blogging.]

Anyway, before Dennis thinks I'm ignoring him And before my spelling and grammar gets any worse .... Here's a photo!

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning! Grrr, another cold and gloomy day out. April Showers are definitely upon us.
Don't think I'll get any knitting in before work, but at least I did last night. I decided to use my skein of Taupe Cotton Ease to knit Boheme for my little cousin, Summer. Although, I may take the pattern in a new direction once I reach the waist. Maybe a different lace? The color is a little drab, but I think I can brighten it up with some pretty buttons. I'm seeing her this Sunday, so hopefully I'll have it finished!

OK, must get ready for work!

The Infamous Question

"What to knit next?" I started knitting a hat with Berroco's Quest, but I didn't really have a pattern in mind, so that didn't turn out well. Add that to the list of frogged projects. I'm thinking of making something small with Cotton Ease... I've been dying to knit a cardigan, so maybe I'll star that... but I'm not sure about the taupe. arrrgh! It'll come to me.

Yesterday was very discombobulated. Such a windy dreary day. I wanted to check out Brooklyn Flea, but ended up going to the wrong location. The last one I went to was in Fort Greene, so I assumed it would be there again. WRONG. When we drove there, and discovered a barren concrete wasteland, I did a quick search on my iPhone, and realized it was in DUMBO! d'oh! Oh well. That being said, Dennis and I attempted to get some shopping done in midtown, but it was impossible. People were out in full force. Not to mention, incredibly rude! No one says excuse me anymore. They just push, sho…

Strangling Vines Part Deux!

I still have to add the tassels, but it's done!
Gonna wear it out now... Dennis and I are taking a trip to Brooklyn Flea!
Hopefully it won't rain.

I am officially insane! I was out until 2am at last night, and am now awake... blogging! And in a few minutes, I'll be knitting. Did I mention it's 8:00 am? I must be insane!

Speaking of sanity, Thursday I took a personal mental health day. My brain was incredibly fried, and just needed a day to just veg out. Spent most of the day working on my Strangling Vines scarf, which is almost done!!! It was such a nice day out, too! I took a walk to my LYS, B.E. Yarns and bought one skein of Berroco's Quest and one skein of Cotton Ease. I've actually never knitted with cotton before, so I can't wait to see what I come up with. Maybe I'll knit my little cousin Summer, dress! Although, the color of the yarn is Taupe... but she's so cute, any color would look good on her!

And in other news, My blog url is officially! I bought this domain name over the summer, but wasn't sure what to do with it. Finally, it has a purpose!

Last weekend I took a break from…
