The Stash Stops Here!... at least for now.

A giddy end to a crazy week: My KnitPicks yarn and Amazon shipment were waiting for me when I got home!

Seriously, this needs to stop. No more yarn! I think I'm set for the rest of the summer. Must not buy yarn for at least 2 months-- Pfft! We'll see how that resolution holds up.

I ordered 2 skeins from KnitPicks' new Tonal Stroll line: One in Gypsy and the other in Queen Anne. They're gorgeous! Gypsy has all red tones ranging from a bright vermillion to magenta to a deep raspberry, while Queen Anne is mostly citrusy yellows with a hint of grapefruit. I can't wait to knit these up! I smell triangle shawls galore! They're so cheery to look at :)
I also ordered several skeins of Simply Cotton Worsted in Toffee and Comfy Worsted in Pomegranate. For these, I'm thinking cardigans.

Also via post, "Knitting Lace Triangles" by Evelyn A. Clark! I was surprised how small the book is, which definitely makes learning to design my own patterns less intimidating... even though there's a bit more math involved than expected. However, she gives you charts and formulas to work everything out, so I think I'll be OK. :)

I finally finished Conifer! Better photos to come, but here it is blocking on my bed. This is the first time I've blocked something using pins. It went fairly well, but I think a flatter surface is needed. I spotted those foam puzzle pieces used for blocking in a dollar store. 4 sections of these things go for 20 bucks in craft stores... Here they were only $5. If I can over look the farm animals painted on them (they were made for children after all) I might just pick some up.

Finally, I cast on another Ishbel. It's been a rather unproductive knitting week. Stress wasn't helping in the inspiration department, leaving me itching to cast something on! I'm going for the larger size, using Garnet Malabrigo lace. I love love love this color! It looks like a reddish orange but in the light it's subtly variegated. I gave my velvet grapes Ishbel to my mom, so I suppose I have just cause knitting up some Mmmmalabrigo goodness for myself. ;-)

By the way, this has been the most productive knitting morning I've had all week! I've barely had any time to knit, let alone Tweet! Aside from blogging, I was able to put a major dent in writing the pattern for the Vinelle Cardigan, which is coming along!
Speaking of patterns, @KnittyorNice knit my Hilde Hat!!! It turned out so pretty! Check it out on her blog, She also whips up some pretty yummy-looking baked goodies! :-9
